Now this is one badass bass! I haven’t seen any bands using this yet, but I think it’s a matter of time before it starts to show up on the darker side of the metal scene.
You can’t go wrong with this thing on stage. The top of the mahogany body shape is somewhat similar to the BC Rich Warlock, but with a curvier feel to it. The bottom reminds me of the Silvertone Apocalypse’s pointy and symmetrical horns.
The long and sleek neck goes all the way through the body for optimal tone, and features tribal style inlays all down the fretboard. It’s a mean, thunder-packed, goth-chick magnet from hell.
I hope to have a review of the AX-404 here soon. Until then, drool over the specs, or check out what some players are saying over at Musician’s Friend.

This is one unbelieveble motherfu….
When you play this, you’ll feel that you’re the baddest in the world, no doubt about that. The great rosewood fingerboard and amazing frets lets you slide and shred as fast as you like, when you get this, it’s ready to use. The neck is set as standard as could be, so you might want to change that if it does not fit your hands. The shard edges makes your chest hurt if you do not stand up and play with it, but after a year time with this psycho bass, you’ll get used to that. The tone is really the shit, you can play whatever you want to. It lets you put a really heavy metallic sound on it like nothing else, or it will let you play some real funky shit, blues, jazz, anything, you name it, and this can handle it. The EMG pickups are really amazing, and if you’re looking for a bass that can handle almost everything, this is it.
One of the other things that isn’t that amazing about this one is the weight. Because of the mahogany body and neck, your right shoulder will start hurt because of the massive weight.
But as a final word I would give this 9/10, because when I saw this bass, I really wanted it. And when I got it in my hands the first day, it was all I ever dreamed about. Almost everything about this is the shit, and for the price, it’s definately worth a try!!!
Yeah I agree the weight is a bit on the heavy side. But then again – it plays and feels like a dream. Not to mention, it LOOKS like a devil!
